Special Court orders producing PTI chairman, Qureshi in cipher case on Nov 28

The special court on Thursday ordered to produce PTI Chairman Imran Khan and party Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi before the court in cipher case on November 28.

Special Court judge Abu Alhasnaat Zulqurnain president over the cipher case hearing conducted at the udicial Complex in G-11 instead of Adiala jail, following the Islamabad High Court (IHC) orders.

During the hearing, lawyers Ali Bukhari and Khalid Yousaf represented Qureshi, and the judge requested a copy of the Islamabad High Court’s divisional bench, which was promptly provided.

Subsequently, the court adjourned the hearing and instructed jail authorities to present Imran Khan and Qureshi before the court on Tuesday, November 28.

Notably, on November 21, the Islamabad High Court had declared the jail trial of the cipher case illegal, ruling that proceedings since August 29, including the indictment, were deemed unlawful.

This development led to the relocation of the hearing and the scheduled appearance of PTI chairman and Shah Mahmood Qureshi as ordered by the special court.
